Someone said no one would ever read my book because there’s no love triangle. Prove them wrong?

Reblog if you would read a book with NO romance arc and a female, asexual main character
There are SO many stories out there where the romance arc feels so forced and unnatural. Like the writer felt like romance was a needed aspect for there story but had no idea where to put it into the story or how. Romance is not a requirement of life. Sexual attraction is not a requirement of life. Asexual and Aromantic people exist and I would love to see more stories without forced and unnecessary relationships.
BRING IT ON
My favorite genre is Urban Fantasy and most if not all of the protags are FEMALE but often with terrible romance plots. Usually a big common theme is “paranormal romance” with the badass independent protag falling for her sexy new neighbor/partner/best friend etc. and I’m so tired of it.
Gimme an awesome female main character and skip the romance/sexual relations/etc.
I am personally a HUGE fan of badass female protags with an awesome male best friend in a story in which they love and support each other through a healthy platonic relationship that never develops any awkward sexual or romantic tension.
As a female who grew up with a very awesome male friend in which we never developed any romantic or sexual attraction toward each other, yet literally EVERYONE, and I do mean EVERYONE who knew us said we’d end up together, despite how many times I tried to argue that that wasn’t the kind of relationship we had, they would demand that I was wrong and we would end up together, not joking. (spoiler, 30 years old now, still not together, he’s married and has two lovely children actually)
So yes, I am a HUGE fan of stories that show that men and women CAN BE FRIENDS.
